HISTORICAL  BACKGROUND  OF  DEPARTMENT

 

Well know and reputed L.V.D College established in 1954 by Taranath Shikshana Samsthe to provide higher education to this backward region of the Kalyana Karnataka. The Political Science department also established in 1954. The Department had good fortune of having Shri.R.B Magal as the Head of the Deparmtnet and who was also the Principal of the College. Under the special care of the HOD and Principal the department of developed by creating interest among the students community to study Political Science along with favorable academic atmosphere. Further the department was strengthened by the Prof.M.Dhruvanarayana from 1958,         Y.K Chandrashekarappa from 1963 these two scholars provided depth and stability to the department. Shri.Sangayya Hiremath joined the department in 1983.

 

Shri.Amaregouda S joined the department in 1988 who provided youthful energy to the work and Shri.Sangayya Hiremath retired in 2011 and Shri.Amaregouda S have taken up the responsibility as to develop the department with extreme care and dedication and leads the department up to 2023 and transfer to our College ie SSRG Women’s College, Raichur as a Principal.

 

Dr.Krishna Naik joined the department in 2021 taken up the responsibility as head of the department with dedication and leads the department till today. And Shri.Maltesh joined the department in 2023 as a Lecturer.

Develop the leadership qualities, organize skill, administrative ability, moral and discipline, among the students and enable them to achieve peace, progress and prosperity.

 

GOALS
  1. Providing higher education to all class of people with irrespective of caste, community, sex, income etc.,
  2. Provide more new courses
  3. Introduction latest techniques in discipline.
  4. Promoting learning skill among the students.
  5. Promoting humanism, secularism, nationalism, morality and scientific view among the students.
  6. Equality of Men and Women.

 

OBJECTIVES
  1. To create political awareness & political responsibility among students , which help them to become the responsible citizens.
  2. To enable the students to understand the government scientifically.
  3. To understand the political policy, planning and welfare.
  4. To help the students to analyse the political problems of the present complex politics.
  5. To enable the students to develop the complete personality.
