About the Department

History

The department of computer science was established in the year 1994-95. In the initial days of its establishment, the department flourished under the able guidance of Dr. S.M. Khened, the Ex- principal of the college. Over the years the department has grown spectacularly in academic and infrastructural facilities, thanks to the generous funds by the august Management. The department has excellent infrastructure to cater to the educational needs in computer science in the chronically backward region. Owing to the student-centric concerted efforts by the Faculty members to impart quality education, the computer science has been most sought after subject in this region.

Six year later, in the year 2001, the Department introduced BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION, at the UG level. The first Batch of BCA students did excellent performance with First, Fourth, Fifth and seventh ranks to the university. The Department has good tradition of imparting quality coaching and has been endeavoring to make the student of this educationally backward region computer educated. As a partial fulfillment of the course for their project work, department has been sending the student to very reputed industries like WIPRO,INFOSYS,TCS,HCL,GESCOM,SHILPA Medicare etc.

Infrastructure of the Department

The Department has three spacious Labs with small store room. The Internet facility provided. The Labs of the Department have sufficient number of systems to perform all the experiment prescribed by the University. The staff has designed simple and lucid method in conducting the experiments.

Though the Department has no separate library of its own, the Central Library of the college has 1200 number of volumes of the latest publications books on the subject. The students are encouraged by the Faculty members to get the maximum benefit of the books.

The syllabus in computer science is in accordance with the guidelines of Gulbarga University. The revision of syllabus by the University was done in the current years. The University follows semester system.
